Many webmasters erroneously believe that just because their domain name registrar says a particular domain name is ‘available’ that it truly is. This is not necessarily so. Even if a domain name is physically available, it may not legally be open for use. Why? It’s because there might already be a company that has the rights to the keywords used within the domain name.

If this happens yet the webmaster claims the domain name anyway, they are at risk of losing it through a domain name arbitration proceeding. They could even be charged with trademark/copyright infringement if things get really ugly. For this reason it’s best to make sure the keywords used in a domain name aren’t protected for someone else. This article will explain how webmasters can make such a determination.

First, site owners need to test and see if their chosen domain name resembles any existing trademark that’s on the books. They’ll need to do this earlier than really investing any money in the domain name. To search existing problems, webmasters can visit the web site of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office which is USPTO.gov. From here they will search a database that accommodates present logos as well as those that are pending.

After all, if a webmaster would prefer a zero percent risk, they’ll simply try to consider one other domain name. Once they go about doing this, they have to be more generic and less inventive in what they arrive up with. Using search engine keywords for a domain name is one such strategy. Webmasters may also look into utilizing dictionary terms. If everything else fails they will take a generic term and combine it with a term that is less likely to be taken.

In both ways, as soon as an appropriate domain name has been chosen, site owners ought to take into account getting it trademarked themselves, especially if they are using it to help brand their business. With an official trademark, a webmaster has more authorized power should one other firm try to take them to court. And since there isn’t any scarcity of domain name bullies, a webmaster should use all authorized avenues available to guard the rights of their business.

In conclusion, by checking whether or not a website name has keywords which are part of a trademark, site owners lessen the danger that they will have legal problems in the future. If there are problems, and a website name arbitration continuing doesn’t rule in a webmaster’s favor, they will flip to The Domain Name Rights Coalition.

People are creatures of habit, as I’m sure you’ve heard many a time. However it is an even truer statement that they are creatures of entertainment. People need to be entertained. People need to have things be exciting and capture their attention. How does all of this pertain to article marketing, website development and online business? Read on.

If you want people to go ahead and read what you are writing, then you need to capture their attention right away. The title is the first place, and quite possibly the only chance you will get, to accomplish this. This is where you want to choose your words wisely and utilize not only your keywords but words of action as well. Words that will make your reader want to continue.

With web pages you often get to have your title tag show up in the search engines results. Most of the major engines use the title tag, or part of it, in their results pages. Grab peoples attention here with a well written, keyword rich and entertaining tag and you will get that traffic. Use wording that spurs action to get them to click on your link. You can get them to your site even if you are #5 with this method.

The title of any article, page, report or story is just as important as is this title tag we speak of in regards to web pages. We need to captivate our audience right here and now so they will continue on to see what is going on. Give them a question they want to know the answer to and they will read on. This is especially true with articles and listings of titles. We have this one opportunity to entertain our reader.

Keywords alone are probably not going to grab your readers attention. You need to use some further wordage, and you need to sculpt it to be enticing. Some words will grab peoples attention faster than others. Expert writers say that you, results, health, guarantee, discover, love, proven, safety, save and new are all attention grabbing words. Accordingly, you, free, new and how are thought of as the most powerful of the group.

XML schema definition languages are founded on recommendations laid down by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). They use XML 1.0 syntax and aim to explicit describe the structure of XML documents and constrain the data which they may contain. They offer a distinct improvement on the more limited schema features offered by the Document Type Definition (DTD) recommendation which formed part of the original XML specification released in 1998. The most widely used schema language is the one defined by the W3C in 2001: W3C XML Schema. However, there are alternatives, such as RELAX NG and Schematron.

Schema documents are the more sophisticated successors to DTDs and overcome some key limitations associated with them. Firstly, DTDs do not support data types. Secondly, DTDs do not support namespaces. Thirdly, DTDs do not allow developers to accurately define the number of permitted occurrences of elements within their parent element.

An XML schema is concerned with the structure of an XML instance document by defining what each element must or may contain. An element is limited by its type. For example, an element of complex type can contain child elements and attributes, whereas a simple-type element can only contain text. The diagram below gives a first look at the types of XML Schema elements.

Three main purposes are fulfilled by schema documents. Firstly, they can be used to validate XML documents. Secondly, they can be used as a dictionary or grammar for the creation of a given class of XML document. And, thirdly, they can be used to provide documentation for XML documents.

An XML schema is itself an XML document and it contains definitions of all elements and attributes permitted in a class of XML documents. The schema also specifies the structure or hierarchy to which elements must adhere and the type of content each particular element may contain. Elements may be of the simple or complex type. Complex type elements may contain child elements as well as attributes. Simple type element may only contain data. XML documents using a particular schema are referred to as instances of the schema. An XML instance that correctly adheres to its associated schema is said to be valid.

Validation is normally the key role of schema documents. Validation offers many benefits. It ensures the consistency of data within a document. It ensures that data has the right structure and internal hierarchy. It ensures that data within the document structure is of the correct type. It allows us to receive data from multiple sources.

Most XML documents are produced by programs and scripts written to extract information held in databases and transform it into XML. However, it is also possible for human beings to create XML documents. Schemas can be used during this process to assist in the document creation process. XML schemas also provide a mechanism for documenting XML documents and form an important part of the specification of XML vocabularies.

I’m sure you have heard that blogging takes time to take off. Yet I have seen many bloggers who make the mistakes of giving up early when the matter of fact is, they are on the right track. So how do you tell?

1. Growing subscriber count – I’ll admit I made this mistake with my first blog. I expect subscribers to grow huge within 2 months. When I said large, I’m talking about at least 10k subscribers. That’s not realistic. It does happen to bloggers, don’t get me wrong, but it’s rare. As long as you have a growing subscriber count, you’re making progress.

2. Increasing numbers of inbound links – Links determine your search engine rankings. It makes it easy for people to find your site. There’s only two ways you can increase your links. It’s either you write long useful articles or you do guest blogging. Personally, I recommend both.

3. Increasing numbers of valuable comments – Comments are always great to have. It shows to your visitors that there are actually people who read your blog. We all have this herd mentality embedded in us. If many find it interesting, usually we would have no problem to agree to it. That’s how visitors work as well.

4. Increasing visitors and pageviews – Many bloggers are stats junkies. While growth in traffic isn’t always representative of meeting or surpassing your blogging goals, it certainly isn’t a bad thing. There are many channels for you to market your blog and increase your visitors. Guest posting and making use of social media is some of the ways to reach out to new readers. If you make use of these channels, over time your blog stats will increase as more and more readers visit and subscribe to your blog.

5. Consistent posting – This is big. Consistent posting is the key to blogging success, and I don’t think there is any exception. If you are posting consistently, you’re already one step ahead of the vast majority of bloggers.

6. Improving quality of articles – Though this may be a subjective issue, but I think most bloggers can make good comparison through going through their older posts. If the quality of your articles improves overtime, which it should, you’re on the right track.

7. An increasing network of bloggers – Networking is crucial. Look at it this way; bloggers support each other. Instead of seeing other bloggers as your competitors, try to see them instead as your partner. By networking with other bloggers, you are more likely to get links, guest blogging opportunities and comments.

Many individuals are limited in their perspectives pertaining to the definition of business opportunities. They believe that if you can find a nine-to-five job that pays decently that you’re maximizing your business opportunities. What appeals to these people is the chance to lock in a regular pay together with advantages although this is not one of the most effective money creating opportunities that are available. The disadvantages associated with the nine-to-five job play a large part of these business opportunities.

A one who is confined to the work place setting is limiting their intellectual and artistic opportunities by being suppressed by the company demands of monotony. In addition to the confinements related to the 9-to-5 job employees are perpetually forced to answer to one or several managers that are higher up the company hierarchy scale. These disadvantages build these money creating opportunities unappealing to entrepreneurs as they look for the next of the money making opportunities.

Another of the popular business opportunities exist within the house primarily based business. When you study a home based business you see several of the advantages associated with the nine-to-five job turn to disadvantages and therefore the disadvantages flip to advantages. A home based business does not rely on the vast financial abilities of a corporate company and solely has itself to rely on. The loss of the reliable steady paycheck and the support of a major company to back you are each disadvantages found in the house based mostly business. On the flip side, the disadvantage related to the restrictions of the company workplace vanishes in the web environment. An advantage is found with someone’s new found abilities to specific their creativity and concepts into effective tools at intervals their business. There aren’t any restrictions for a private looking to boost their own business and improve their opportunities to spice up the profit in their home based mostly business.

Once you have developed an understanding of what each of the business opportunities supply you need to then asses which of those opportunities work best with your vogue of business management. The nine-to-five setting of work will appeal to a personal who enjoys the structure of a company atmosphere and the reliability of an everyday guaranteed pay check. If you are an individual tired of the restrictions of the company operating surroundings and have the drive to pursue outside cash creating opportunities then the net market of the home based business will charm to you.

An opportunity for these on-line entrepreneurs that helps to scale back the risks related to the lone business can be found in working with another online company. When a corporation offers their programs or services to home based mostly businesses they are not looking for a lot of employees but for individuals who are willing to capitalize off of their original success. This helps the net owner notice an existing market with proven success and helps the web business expand their name and improve the brand recognition.

To get a lot of on the business opportunities available to individuals who need to pursue the online dream whereas reducing their immediate risks visit http://www.moneywealthmaker.com

In’95 when the Internet exploded into the living rooms of people around the world, they could send email, read the news, look up favorite recipes, and search for “whatever”. Since then a number of people have been making some serious money online. We would like to present our 5 top picks of possible ways to make money online:

IDEA #1) Why not write for Web Logs…Blogs for short. Writing for some of the more established blogs is one of the easiest ways that you can make money online. You can make between $5 and $100 for each article you write, and you won’t even need to have your own web site. Exactly how much money you will make depends on various things, but here are a few: popularity, Alexa Ranking, Page Rank, RSS Subscribers count, etc. Check out these established blogs:

a) ReviewMe b) SponsoredReviews c) Blogsvertise d) Payperpost e) Smorty f) Linkworth

IDEA #2) You can fill out Online Web Surveys. While some of these web sites are SCAMS, there are legitimate and profitable sites out there. You just need to do your homework to find out which is which. Be sure to check out their payment history, and see what other users are giving them in terms of comments and reviews. Here’s one potential candidate: CashCrate.com Check them out!

IDEA #3) Why not write original content for other web sites? Everyone knows “something”, and you might have some special and unique knowledge that others will pay for. You’ll never know unless you try. Is there a certain hobby or technical skill that you are known for? If you are interested in making money in this way, you should look at:

1) About.com 2) eHow.com 3) Helium.com 4) Bukisa.com 5) AssociatedContent.com

IDEA #4) Working at Freelance Jobs. If you can do computer programming, or design web sites, write technical info, draw, etc. you can leverage these skills to make some extra money online. People are looking for these skills in the online marketplace today…and they will pay you good money for it. If this interests you, check out:

- Guru.com – GetaFreeLancer.com – Elance.com

IDEA #5) Via Online Affiliate Sales. If you have an established website, there are companies out there that will pay you for sending paying customers their way. Companies such as: Commission Junction, Amazon, ClickBank, and LinkShare will provide you with the names of these companies. Put one of their ads on your website, and whenever someone purchases an item via your ad, you will get some $. With Amazon you can make 5-15% for each product sold through the ad on your website. For ClickBank, the percentage is anywhere from 50-75%. The key to this method of making money online is that you need to have an establish web site…one that a lot of people look at.

1. Related Files

HTML is a notoriously sparse environment which relies on files created with other technogies to add functionality to web pages. Typical examples of related files are server-side includes, CSS, JavaScript and XML. Dreamweaver now includes a feature called “Related Files” which enables you to edit the content of such files, without having to open them separately, and to instantly see the effect of your changes on the main file.

Whenever you open a file which contains linked files, Dreamweaver displays each of the linked files in the Related Files Bar. To access a related file just click on its name. If you make any changes to a related file and asterisk appears next to its name in the Related Files Bar to remind you to save your changes. When you do, the impact of the changes is immediately visible in the main file.

2. Photoshop integration

The Photoshop integration which was begun in Dreamweaver CS3 has been enhanced in CS4 to offer via the use of Adobe’s Smart Objects technology. A Photoshop file can be imported directly into Dreamweaver and will automatically come in as a smart object.

Photoshop images are can be inserted using the same techniques as inserting any other image file: Insert – Image; dragging from the Files panel; dragging from the Assets panel; or using the Insert toolbar. A Photoshop-style Optimise window automatically appears and you can choose the settings appropriate for that particular image usually GIF, JPEG or PNG.

3. Creating CSS styles in the Property Inspector

The Property Inspector can be used to change the attributes of any element you select on an HTML page. In previous versions of Dreamweaver, changing the attributes of highlighted text would cause the program to create CSS classes with names like “Style1″, “Style2″, etc. in the head area of the current page. This random creation of styles was often responsible for getting new web developers into bad habits.

Extensible Stylesheet Language (XSL) is an XML-related technology which is used to transform XML data. XML file are used to set the ground-rules for a given body of data and to describe the data itself. XSL allows us to take that data and convert it into information which can be displayed in a web browser window or opened with a text editor. It can also be used to create an XML file which is a modified version of an original XML file.

When displaying elements in a browser window, the XSL elements which enable looping through an XML tree and decision-making really come into their own. One of the key methods used in XSL for looping through XML elements is the “For-each” element. This uses the “select” attribute to specify which element is to be targeted in the loop. The “For-each” element has both an opening and a closing tag and any lines of code placed between the opening and closing tags will be repeated each time the element specified in the “select” attribute is encountered in the XML file.

For example, let’s say we have an XML file containing a list of companies and the addresses of their websites. Let’s also say that the element which we will be targeting in the XSL “For-each” statement is called “company” and that, within each company element, we have a “name”, “telephone” and “website” element. Before beginning our “For-each” loop, we could place the opening tag of an HTML “ul” element (an unordered or bulleted list).

Inside the “For-each” loop, we could output an HTML “li” element and, between its opening and closing tags, output the contents of the “name” and “telephone” elements from the XML file. The data in the “website” element in the input XML could be used to convert the “name” into a clickable link.

As for the appearance of the data in the resulting HTML output, this would be controlled by a linked CSS file. CSS can be used to format the output in any way we like, so our bulleted list can take on pretty much any appearance we desire.

by Angie Sandy

Theres no denying the plain and simple fact that content boosts website traffic. It provides value for recurring visitors. Carefully optimized content also boosts search engine traffic. More traffic means more sales, which is the ultimate goal of any internet business.

Content management systems or CMS not only save you tons of time, they simplify the process of creating content and automate your site submissions to the search engines thus improving your website traffic and ultimately your profits. Because content is essential to the success of any online business, many entrepreneurs turn to a CMS.

CMS Defined

CMS or Content Management Systems are programs which simplify the creation and management of content. They provide a uniform system for managing the abundance of content required to build your business.

What Exactly Does a CMS Do?

1. It enables the user to manage the creation, modification, and removal of content from a Web site without needing the expertise of a Webmaster. This means you dont need to know any programming language to use your website.

2. Secondly, CMS handles the delivery of your content to your website. Once youve made any updates to the content on your site, your CMS takes care of delivering it to your site ” no need for a third party webmaster to handle the job.

CMS Makes your Life Easier

There are innumerable benefits to using CMS. Consider the possibilities of a system which makes writing, uploading, and storing all of your content, potentially thousands of articles simple ” no HTML required.

Safe and easy outsourcing. One of the benefits of CMS is the ability to password protect specific areas of your site. That means you can have multiple authors contributing without risking other areas of your site.

- Professionally designed pages and no HTML required. WYSIWYG (stands for What You See is What You Get ” which refers to a web page editor that allows for copy and paste formatting), is the CMS function which may appeal to many non-technical internet entrepreneurs. If you would rather not have to learn HTML but still want your content to have all of the features and functions that an HTML document has, then look for a content management system with a web editor. Users can format their content as they see fit, with underlining, bold and even embedded text links, without having to know programming languages.

Convenient access. Unlike many systems, you dont have to be at your very own personal computer to make changes to your website. A CMS based website is accessible from any computer with an internet connection. Just logon to your account and youre able to make any changes or additions.

Better SEO. Consistent and relevant content boosts search engine rankings. As your rankings improve so too will your website traffic and ultimately your profits. When the content management process is this simple, SEO rankings are sure to improve

Intuitive. In addition to offering a user friendly control panel, its important to be able to have security features, which make it easy to password protect certain areas of your website and make certain information available on a limited basis.

For example, you could offer a free report, send the download page and password to your subscribers and provide them special access.

A good content management system makes being an internet entrepreneur a much simpler and more profitable experience. Not all CMS systems are created equal. If youre looking to utilize a content management system into your business website, make sure youre getting a user friendly, secure product which offers good customer support and all the features you need to continue growing your business.
